My name is Kalah and I am a Freedom Doula, Shame Slayer, and Pleasure Activist. I am the founder of In Pleasure We Trust. My trust is not a romantic fairy tale, it is a well earned respect that I have established within myself, even after many heartbreaks.

Like a broken bone that gets stronger after the break, I’ve established dignity of heart and spirit. I am the sweetness that comes from the courage to be free. I have held practice in the erotic arts for over seven years. I love the animal that resides in me. I’m an honest lover, with a lot of magic to share.

Very few have touched these realms of the goddess. Time and time again I have found my purpose through diving into mystery, and being touched by this tender human experience. I am an integrated erotic human, and I am committed to this benevolent unconditionally loving path.

What was your journey into this world?

It’s been a very natural and organic process for me. In slow I have trusted.

I select my clients with the upmost intention to do deep healing work, and provide a slice of heaven on earth from a place of rooted love.

My capacity to be with, to witness, and to make love are all gifts that were given to me through my innate wisdom, own personal development and healing, as well as several decades of study and mentorship.

I moved to Costa Rica about seven years ago, and spent six years unraveling from what one of my teachers calls the terrorism of conditional loving. After allowing my heart to break open, I’ve slowly gathered pieces back that were long forgotten, and reclaimed aspects of my sensual and sexual embodiment. I have very robust multi year lovers that hold and anchor for me in my practice of loving. I also live a sober lifestyle, and have really learned how to trust my most innate being.

Who is your typical client?

If you are someone who yearns to be proud of your sexuality, your body, and your heart then working with me will teach you how to encompass your full truth.

My practice calls those who need to take action in their intimate lives, desire to be seen in a non-judgmental pleasure positive space, and learn intimacy skills that will set them up for deeper connection and relatability. A session with me is like a soothing balm, here to encapsulate your worry, and transform it into deep satisfaction. People usually leave sessions with me feeling lighter, restful, inspired, liberated, ready, and empowered.

How would you describe your approach to what you do?

I am a YES woman. I am a true free spirit and receiver to life itself. My life is an art of sweet surrender. I let life live me, and I hold respect and care for all my beloveds with whom I share this path.

My appetite for divine eros is insatiable – I am a devotee to that which breathes life through everything.

I’ve traveled the world exploring different sex positive communities and presenting at festivals. I regularly host group and private sacred sexual experiences for lively groups of international friends. I’ve painted a vibrant life for myself, colored with sweet companionship, pleasure, and dependable love.

My approach to what I do is my approach to life itself.

What is your favourite thing about your work and what are the biggest challenges?

Favorite thing about my work is that I get to be me. I get to live my passion, curiosity, love, and pleasure everyday. I will never take that for granted, it is rare to live your dreams and make them a reality.

The biggest challenge in my work is helping my clients understand that what I provide is a professional service, and that I’m caring for them from a place of genuine expertise. Even though my personal life is quite close to the appearance my work takes, my work is very different experience than if you were to experience me in my personal world.

I have my own ways of being in my personal life that I actually don’t bring into my working life. This distinction is sometimes hard to translate to my clients. Although I would consider my clients friends, they ultimately are not romantic interests in my life. That boundary I hold firm, and it has caused some struggles in the past.

What should more people know about pleasure?

Pleasure is not just a birthright, it is a way of life, it’s a daily rigorous practice. Pleasure provides access to create new structures of care within our communities. It grants a way out of repressed standards of living, and births higher bars of interest and connection.

There is no liberation without the reclamation of our pleasure. 

Pleasure requires us to grieve, to let go, to surrender to that which is a mystery. It helps us humans engage with reality in a way that we are usually suppressed, numbed, or distracted. In pleasure we choose presence to what is, make choice from a place of acceptance, and in a very sensorial way remember our inherent belonging to one another.

How has your relationship with what you do evolved over time?

Oh yes, it’s in constant evolution. I work very seasonally, with the Earth and its rotation through space and time. I find that with each season I am inspired by something new. My online coaching packages vary per season, dependent on what creatively comes through me during these chapters of the year. Currently Fall is speaking a language of harvest, and is about bringing pleasure into form.

So I’m diligently focused on how we structure our intimate relationships, and what choices are available in creating ways of living in our truest sexual form, how we might shape shift for others, and when we lose ourselves to the rush of passion how do we land it into the earth and create sustained pleasurable lives? Just to name some current musings and embodiments of my process.

What are your hopes for the future in the sensual world?

My hope is that we can all be free in our expression of love making. We all love differently, and that is a beautiful thing. Infinite intimate forms get to be here, and get to shape the world we live in.

Our unique expressions will make lasting impressions on future generations of people. Until one day, being our most powerful erotic selves is simply a given.
