Zara Durose is an award winning pornstar, seen on Brazzers, Fake Hub and more. She is an experienced dominatrix, in the top 1.6% on OnlyFans, and is well known for her kinky GFE services. She also runs UK fetish events and is launching her own range of latex care products.

Only someone with a serious career mind could truly manage to balance all of these things. So when we meet Zara on a  Wednesday evening video call, its no surprise to see that she is an incredibly quick-witted and eloquent person, with a true enjoyment for what she does.

How did you become a pornstar companion?

It’s been a while! I have worked in the adult industry for almost 12 years. I’ve always been open minded and into pushing boundaries and trying new things. I became a pornstar, then moved into dominatrix work, and now I do kinky meets as a pornstar companion.

I got my first latex skirt when I was 15. I love the smell, the way it feels, it’s like a second skin.

What are the services you provide?

The main things I do are standard GFE meets or more kinky girlfriend meets. I’m into light bondage and very much into latex, and have been for years. I got my first latex skirt when I was 15. I love the smell, the way it feels, it’s like a second skin. I used to make latex clothing also. I have just released my own range of latex care products, for example latex shiner and dressing aid spray.

What 3 words describe your service as a pornstar companion?

Kinky, sensual, and open-minded.

I have a lot of people who have been fans of my videos for a while, and then they get the chance to meet me and make their fantasy come true.

How does your experience as a pornstar inform your work as a companion?

They really go hand in hand. I have a lot of people who have been fans of my videos for a while, and then they get the chance to meet me and make their fantasy come true, that’s why the pornstar companion concept can be popular. I don’t do as much mainstream porn anymore because there’s not many productions in the UK. Instead I do more OnlyFans and custom clips, which is different to mainstream porn because you get to create specific fantasies that people request, which is nice.

How do you think sites like OnlyFans have changed the industry?

When I first started out, I was relying on studios to book me. Now you have more control over your content. And financially it’s also a lot better, so it’s a positive change mostly.

Being in the sex industry is a lot of hard work. You’ve got to have a business mind about you. There’s marketing, admin, social media, it’s not just turning up and screwing someone.

As an award winning pornstar, what’s the key to success in the sex industry?

Being in the sex industry is a lot of hard work. You’ve got to have a business mind about you. There’s marketing, admin, social media, it’s not just turning up and screwing someone.

What do clients who know you as pornstar want?

Some guys ask how porn works, because they’re interested in getting into the industry. When I explain how the actually industry works, they’re usually no longer interested in trying porn!

A lot of guys that meet me ask to do the stuff they’ve seen me do in porn, and many people are nervous when we first meet. But there are some people who book me who haven’t seen my work before, so it’s funny when they find out.

I have a lot of regulars with companionship, and we have become good friends. I love it when I see them leave with a big smile on their face. With porn, I like the creativity of it, the acting and the social element because it’s such a team effort.

How does the companion/client intimacy differ from the porn/costar intimacy?

It’s completely different. When you’re filming, you’re both there to do a job. It’s a long day and you’re often filming the same scene over and over. It’s a more professional environment. When it comes to companion meets, it’s more fluid. I enjoy getting to know the person, having a drink, a chat, and really being the fantasy for them.

What is your favourite thing about being a pornstar and separately, being a companion?

I have a lot of regulars with companionship, and we have become good friends. I love it when I see them leave with a big smile on their face. With porn, I like the creativity of it, the acting and the social element because it’s such a team effort.

The government trying to bring in the Nordic model is going to cause problems. It still feels like sex workers don’t have much of a voice because so many decisions are made without confronting us, or seeming to care about our opinion.

How do you find touring as a pornstar companion?

Touring can be quite chaotic. I tend to go to places for between 3 and 5 days. I try to have bits in-between where I can see the city, but when I’m not in appointments, I’m normally doing admin or filming.

What do you think about the current state of sex work in the UK?

I think there’s still a lot of problems. The government trying to bring in the Nordic model is going to cause problems. It still feels like sex workers don’t have much of a voice because so many decisions are made without confronting us, or seeming to care about our opinion. Sometimes it feels like it’s getting better, sometimes it feels it’s going backwards. There’s a long road ahead.

Do you have any advice for client etiquette?

When you message a companion as a client, be concise and clear about what you want. Don’t just say ‘hi’ because you won’t get a response. Read the profile thoroughly, and then based off the information you have learnt from reading it, send a message detailing the city you want to meet in, the time, the duration, what kind of kinks you’re into etc.

Tell us more about your fetish events.

I started events in 2015, it was originally as a launch party for my website, then I did one for my birthday and it just went from there. It’s under the name ZDR Events (Zara DuRose Events). I do them in London and Brighton. The Brighton ones are a bit smaller, it’s about 90 people where we take over a whole hotel and it’s like a kinky house party vibe. The next one is on the 15th September, however it sells out very fast, and then there’ll be some in May next year.

The London events are bigger. They vary from 200-700 people depending on the venue. They’re more like kinky club nights. There’s dancing, performances and different rooms for the dungeons.

What are the most popular kinks that people request?

Maybe this is surprising, but as a pornstar companion I tend to get a lot of enquiries for kinky girlfriend experiences, which entails a lot of tease and denial and things like that. Foot worship is also always a popular kink.

What are your future plans as a pornstar companion?

I don’t have a set plan. I’m just really enjoying all of the things I do: the events (I’m hoping to organise a mini kinky festival next year), I’ve got the events side of stuff, I’m hoping to do a mini festival next year. And I’m still loving companionship and doing my OnlyFans. Everything works together really nicely.

What do you think of Sensuali so far?

It’s very user friendly, which is really good! I think a feedback system would be great, so when people book you they can see the feedback you have. Overall, I’m enjoying using it.
