‘I am not just a painter, I’m a sex worker. I create and sell adult content. A job that I started to supplement my income as a creative. Now it’s a job I love, appreciate and value as part of my creative expression and process.’
Meet Lissa– ‘just a welsh girl, that loves sex, art and pleasure’. Lissa has been an artist and a content creator for some time. But recently she started to explore the relation between the two. After noticing society’s sex-negative attitude during her sex work experiences, she wanted to use the medium of painting to create erotic art that would help people feel more comfortable about sex. In turn, she wanted to make her online content more artistic, creating elegant, red-lit self portraits and her intimate series of ‘home movies’.

How did you get into content creation & erotic art?
My first experience of sex work was in university. I cammed a little bit in my spare time and always had a lot of fun doing it. I stopped when I became a freelance illustrator, mainly because I didn’t have time for it. However, a year ago, I decided to start painting. I had lost my passion for creating and needed a new medium- paint felt right. But making money from painting takes time, and I hadn’t painted since I was 17, so I decided to explore the world of sex work again to subsidise my income.
I quickly fell in love with both painting and filming sex, and naturally they have influenced each other heavily.
Do you have a mission?
Quick answer, No. I would like to make people feel something. But I wouldn’t call it a mission. I am just creating paintings and porn that hopefully makes people feel comfortable, seen, and accepted.
How would you describe your style to both your content creation and your erotic art?
My style is slow, playful, and passionate. Slow days filled with smiles and care is how I approach life as a whole, I hope that translates into everything I do.
How does your content creation & erotic art inform each other?
Until I started talking to people about their kinks and sexual experiences I didn’t realise how much shame was held in desires. I have always been quite an open person sexually, and I didn’t realise others felt so differently to me. I was already painting naked people, but after my sex work, I wanted to paint sex and kinks so people would know their desires are normal, natural and worthy. It’s cool to express your kinks by painting them!
Now when it comes to my art informing my content creation, this has been a slower burn, I have been grappling with this for the past year and have only just started to find my style. There were a few hurdles, my lack of technical knowledge being one, but mainly my confidence in self image.
This might sound silly, because overall I am very confident and pleased with my appearance, however watching yourself orgasm, seeing yourself in funny positions and looking back at awkward movements and moans strips you naked. Watching that raw unfiltered footage in enough detail to edit was difficult for me. However, something changed a couple of months ago, and now I love editing! The quality is better and honestly I am really proud of how far they have come, and I’m excited to see how they develop this coming year.
Why do you like content creation and making erotic art?
It gives me so much freedom. I can create what I like, when I like, I can express myself to the fullest, build my confidence and learn so much along the way.
I am a fairly restless person when it comes to projects and struggle to do the same thing everyday, so this style of life means I am trying new things all the time and its rare that my days look the same.
What are you working on currently?
I am working on a series of paintings that I plan to release all at once. A few of the topics I am touching on are orgies, self pleasure, and a few fun kinks. I like to depict day-to-day people in my art, and a lot of queer sex. My “home movies” are also developing into their own form of art.
Tell us about your painting process.
A painting can take weeks or hours, and the process never stays the same. Not yet any way. Maybe in another year or so I will have a more consistent process.
My current process is simply sketching a lot, then I choose one of my sketches, paint it, usually hate it and paint over the top of it with something new. Every now and again I create one that I love.
How has your relationship with what you do evolved over time?
When I first started this lifestyle a year ago, I was nervous- excited but mainly battling to find what I wanted to do with my life. Slowly, I settled into physical creation again, and I found a lot of peace of mind. I no longer want to know what I am going to do for the rest of my life, I am more present, and excited about what I can do right now.
Any major influences in the world of erotic art or content creation?
Sadly I am a bit in the dark about the erotic art scene, something I would like to change. However when It comes to content creation, I have found inspiration in companies like Four Chambers and Cheex, as well as lots of small creators. Instagrams algorithm recently did me a solid and I found so many beautiful creators, and started seeing the most aesthetically pleasing sexy images, which pushed me improve my own creations.
How do you feel about the current censorship on the erotic?
It is a constant battle. I don’t agree with the extent of censorship when it comes to physical bodies but I can understand it more than the censorship of art. I have had practically all my paintings flagged on my instagram and my style is far from realistic! It really comes down to the sad reality that lots of people still see sex as a taboo subject that we shouldn’t be exposed to in our day to day lives. I hope that changes.
