How did you get into sensual massage?
Over a year and a half ago I met a woman who explained a sensual massage experience, and how much it blew her mind. I always enjoyed giving massages to people anyway and at this time I was looking for something new then, so I did a workshop from the man who gave her the massage. After that I started giving these massages for free to women, which built my experience and skills. Then I made a website and started making the videos that you can find on my Instagram today and that’s how I got started.
Tell us more about your services.
So sensual massage is my main service and I love to do body to body massages, where I provide sensations from head to toe, this includes a vulva massage internally and/or externally, which can include stimulation of the clitoris and vagina. I started offering sensual massage without the vulva massage so clients can have a cheaper and less intimate option but to this day I only had 1 client who chose the option without the vulva massage!
I feel that I need to keep providing this service, as there are not many people out there like offering it and yet I think there’s so many women out there in need for this and they just don’t know that there’s a service available.
Do clients know what to expect before a session?
Of course. When people sign up to my site, they have to fill in a form with basic information. Then I give them a call (for free), so they understand exactly what I offer and I understand exactly what they are looking for. This connection beforehand is so important, especially as a female seeking service from a male. I’m a stranger to them at this point so I have to make sure they trust me and are comfortable for me to come into their environment or them into mine.
Once we book a date and meet, I allow an extra hour on top of the massage time for connecting before and afterwards. Some have never had a sensual massage before, so they have questions at the start, and after the session, I give time for clients to take in what has happened as it can be an extremely intense experience, not just physically but emotionally too, and sometimes they give me feedback.
Are your clients varied?
Very much. I’ve had clients as young as 21 and as old as 68. I also allow couples- a lot of male partners like to watch their female partners being touched, and I also provide training.
My clients seek my services for plenty of different reasons. Some simply just want to have pleasure full-stop, but some haven’t been touched for years or decades, some have never been given an orgasm, some have never even made themselves orgasm and some have had only either clitoral or penetrative orgasms.
Others have just come out of a long relationship and don’t have the confidence to go out and date, but they still have the basic human desire to feel pleasure. Of course, what all my clients have in common is that they want pleasure. And pleasure is very healing to us all.
It’s very rewarding to work with female clients- women have faced and still face so much sexual oppression. So many women don’t even know how to feel pleasure, and the ones that do don’t know how to ask for it. They don’t get to practise being assertive in getting their pleasure especially in a heterosexual interaction.
What makes your work rewarding?
It’s very rewarding to work with female clients- women have faced and still face so much sexual oppression. So many women don’t even know how to feel pleasure, and the ones that do don’t know how to ask for it. They don’t get to practise being assertive in getting their pleasure especially in a heterosexual interaction.
Many women are used to pleasing the other more than focusing on themselves. They worry they will offend or put off their partner by asking to be pleasured. Also, it physically takes a lot longer for women to reach a place where they’re ready to orgasm, but for a man it’s much easier to get to that place.
So these are all reasons why they come to me. I really encourage my clients to tell me when what I’m doing doesn’t work for them, and when they want me to do it differently, because different people enjoy different sensations and they enjoy different ways to be touched. So urging them to be vocal about what they like and don’t like is very important because it helps them practice this behaviour. It’s okay to ask for what you want, and your sexual partner should love that.
Do you find the sessions are beneficial to you also?
So much. I’ve shed tears with clients, I’ve shared laughs- I’ve seen women having life-changing experiences with me. In the massage, I feel I’m in a state of flow, like we’re together in the journey and its super relaxing and intimate for me also, it’s incredibly therapeutic. This is work that keeps evolving- the more clients I see, the more I learn about it and continually improve my services.
Sensuali is very exciting for sex workers, as it’s a platform where they can just be truthful about what they offer and get real online visibility.
Do you have an objective?
Yes. More and more I feel like it’s my mission to help normalise women seeking paid sensualist experiences like sensual massage. I feel that I need to keep providing this service, as there are not many people out there like offering it and yet I think there’s so many women out there in need for this and they just don’t know that there’s a service available. It’s all about helping women feel comfortable in their desires, with no shame or shyness.
Have you seen the film “Good Luck to You, Leo Grande”?
Yes! I cried so much during that movie. It normalises the idea of a mature woman exploring her sexuality and increasing her confidence by paying for sensual services. I get a lot of similar feedback about my massages boosting self esteem and allowing people to be better versions of themselves.
Sensuali is all about normalising healthy and positive paid experiences. We don’t think there’s anything shameful about sex.
It’s great what Sensuali is doing. Sex workers are censored all over social media. I can’t discuss sex properly on any of my platforms. It’s so frustrating as I’m trying to promote something that’s beautiful- something that helps people. Sensuali is very exciting for sex workers, as it’s a platform where they can just be truthful about what they offer and get real online visibility, which is so important as the internet is where people discover their services.
What has been your experience of being a male in an industry which is predominantly female?
There are two sides to it. I know of females that provide sensual massage services, and they often get more work than me, but that’s because society has normalised men seeking sensual services, whereas there’s still a stigma for women seeking the same services. So that’s the negative side to being a male in this industry.
However, I think my female counterparts face more objectification from their male clients. Whereas my female clients like to have more of a connection which is why I spend so much time talking with them. I really like that part- getting to know them as a human being. And they see me as a human being too.
What does the future hold for Rubens?
I’m only just beginning, and I think the industry will soon start to really take off. I just shot two big documentaries about what I do. I also want to make ethical porn, that focuses on female pleasure.
Some of my videos are just massages with no nudity or sex, which people watch because they are beautiful, massaging is an art. I might do an online course for people to learn about sensual massage. I hope all of my projects will sort of help each other. I know I’m on the right path. Eventually I would love to travel and create beautiful massage videos in amazing settings all over the world.
What else can Sensuali be doing as a new inclusive, safe platform to support people in the industry?
Interviews like this give us a voice. Videos too. Just providing a platform where people can just freely talk about their work, because we don’t have that anywhere else. It’s great, I’m really excited to be part of the Sensuali journey.
