At Sensuali, we are bringing together a diverse array of professionals who work within the realms of sensuality.

From full-service sex workers to erotic photographers, pole dance teachers to Dominatrices, sensual retreat facilitators to somatic touch therapists—the spectrum is vast and ever-expanding.

This is no small task! Our mission is to host a broad and inclusive community while honouring the differences between professions and the broad spectrum of sensuality. But before we dive into what sets these roles apart, let’s explore what unites them.

A shared commitment to the power of pleasure

Sensuali exists because we want to help people feel more at ease with their pleasure. Whether that means working with a sex coach or attending a striptease workshop, it doesn’t matter.

What all experiences on Sensuali have in common is that they provide a space where you are mindfully acknowledging and exploring your sensual self.

True exploration begins with recognising pleasure as something natural, valuable, and worthy of attention.

The high visibility of sex in society today can create an illusion of progress, yet our relationship with it remains full of contradictions.

We are still entangled in deep-rooted, misogynistic ideas that keep us stuck—paralysed by shame rather than liberated by understanding that pleasure is not just natural – it’s powerful, healing, and essential to our well-being.

This understanding is what unites providers on Sensuali, a shared commitment to the power of pleasure.

The four categories on Sensuali

On Sensuali we group services into four main categories:

Providers are not limited to just one category, as many individuals in the sensual world offer a variety of services.

Even if they specialise in just one area, their work might span multiple categories. For example, a kink-focused coach would fall under both BDSM & Kink and Wellness & Education.

We are open to all types of sensual service providers. If you offer something unique that doesn’t yet have a specific category, feel free to select the closest match and specify your work on your profile page.

The sensual spectrum: what do we call sex work?

📍Full service sex work (FSSW)

When people think of sex work, they often think of full-service sex work—the most widely recognised form today. This typically involves direct sexual services and can take many shapes, most commonly in companions as well as sugar babies. In rarer cases, muses and even somatic sex coaches can do full service work.

📍Sex work without full service

There are many professions that exist within the sensual spectrum but don’t necessarily involve full sex. For example, many strippers, professional dominants and shibari artists engage in intimate labour that is sensual, erotic, and physical but may not include sexual intercourse.

📍Emotional intimacy (non-sexual, but deeply intimate)

Then there’s work that is rooted in intimacy but without physical sex, where connection and presence take centre stage. Main examples of this include: platonic companions, energy workers, touch therapists and coaches.

📍Erotic arts and education

Beyond these, we also have work like erotic artists, educators, sex writers and much more. These are people whose work revolves around sex and sensuality in different ways, but is arguably less directly intimate than other sensual professions.

In all of these above categories exist professionals who identify as sex workers because, to them, their work engages deeply with the world of sex. Others prefer different labels, and that’s valid too. The key is understanding the distinctions while respecting each person’s right to define their own work.

At Sensuali, we embrace all forms of sensual labour. If you don’t respect all forms of sex work, this isn’t the platform for you – we stand for the full spectrum of sensual professions without prioritising one over another.

The fluidity of sensual professions

Ultimately, the beauty of this industry is in its fluidity. There’s so much crossover, and that’s something we celebrate.

To be a dominatrix and a sex writer, a stripper who teaches pole dance, an erotic photographer and your own model – we love seeing these intersections of passion, talent, and expertise. Sensuality isn’t one-dimensional, and neither are the professionals within it.

Where to begin on Sensuali

If you’re at the very start of your sensual journey, figuring out your desires, curiosities, and relationship with pleasure, you might be wondering where to begin. The category of Wellness & Education is a great starting point.

Here, you’ll find workshops, coaches, therapists, educators, and retreats designed to help you navigate your sensuality with guidance and support.

You should also explore the Sensuali blog and social media channels for educational content that can help you along the way.

Whether you’re looking for practical advice, personal stories, or insights from professionals, there’s plenty to inspire and inform your journey.
